Message To Our Community
While reflecting on the past year, I am reminded of the extraordinary community we have the privilege of serving. As the community health partner, we continue to look at ways to expand avenues to provide excellent health care.
In 2022 we had the pleasure of expanding additional services into the Carson Valley, opening a new Barton Obstetrics & Gynecology office in Minden, NV.
Additionally, with the same office location and a new look, Alpine Family Practice in South Lake Tahoe and its team of practitioners joined Barton Primary Care. Doctors Chipman, Monroe and Martin, along with Physician Assistant Abigail Haskell, offer primary care services for their patients, including essential health screenings, chronic care management, specialist referrals, and much more.
Whether it's expanded services or our well-established hospital-based care, you can count on Barton to provide consistently exceptional care – in 2022 Barton was named to Newsweek World’s Best Hospital List, awarded an ‘A' grade for patient safety by The LeapFrog Group, and granted a 5-star overall rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Hospital Compare.
High-quality care is rooted in physician, provider, and employee excellence, but is also maintained with patient-focused initiatives and leading technology. We’re so proud to have introduced the latest in robotic-assisted surgery with the new Mako SmartRoboticsTM System, utilized by orthopedic surgeons for knee and hip replacement procedures.
Technology not only improves patient outcomes but can contribute to a patient’s recovery. Barton Rehabilitation Services’ new Bioness Vector Elite Gait & Safety System utilizes technology to offset a precise amount of a patient’s body weight so they can safely and confidently perform rehabilitative exercises. New high-tech infusion chairs, furnished by the Barton Health Foundation, promote safety and offer comfort for patients undergoing a variety of medical procedures related to diseases such as cancer, congestive heart failure, gastrointestinal diseases, immune deficiencies, and arthritis.
Living and providing health care in a rural town has its challenges, but the work we tackle together to succeed and flourish here sustains us. Barton Health has long been a community partner, and this year we look forward to celebrating our 60th anniversary. Over the past 60 years, the health system, like our region, has grown, shifted, and transformed – as we kick off the Barton Regional Expansion Project, we look forward to the same forward momentum in the next 60 years. Throughout 2023, we’ll work with partners, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to determine the project’s scope and begin master plans. We welcome questions and feedback to help develop a fuller picture throughout this period of due diligence and planning. Find project information, FAQs, and a feedback form on our website at BartonHealth.org/Expansion.
Sincerely,
Clint Purvance, MD
President & CEO, Barton Health
