Wellness Support Services provide opportunity for community support and have been shown to improve the emotional, physical, and mental health of cancer patients.

  • All Wellness Classes
All wellness classes are available to Cancer Support Services participants. These classes are designed to improve overall wellness by addressing topics such as nutrition, fitness and sense of purpose.
  • Health Coaching
Health Coaching is a whole-body approach that supports healing through a process of exploration and personal discovery. A health coach meets cancer patients where they are on their cancer journey - from initial diagnosis through survivorship - to help achieve optimal health by including nutritional coaching, goal setting, and daily habits. Together, cancer patients identify areas to change or improve, and the health coach provides guidance and motivation in creating an achievable action plan to get there.
  • Nutrition Education Class: Fighting Cancer with your Fork
Nutrition is an important component of care for cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship. Discover nutrition strategies to reduce treatment recovery time and discuss nutrition myths. Patients with cancer, as well as their family members and caregivers, are strongly encouraged to attend monthly meetings to learn how nutrition can improve quality of health. Explore new topics and taste foods that help fight cancer with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
  • Exercise for Energy
Learn and practice exercises with supervision and guidance from a Physical Therapist and/ or Barton Performance Coach prior to pursuing an individual exercise regime. This program is for patients during and after cancer treatment and incorporates strengthening, stretching, breathing, balance, cardio, and wellness education. Exercise can help patients with cancer regain physical function, diminish their pain, improve bone health, and manage stress.
  • Yoga
Yoga can create a sense of well-being, improve the quality of life, provide relaxation, and reduce stress for some patients with cancer. Yoga has been shown to alleviate some symptoms associated with cancer and improve energy.
