Every year, we treat thousands of individuals with acute orthopedic injuries who are in need of immediate attention. Our carefully coordinated evaluation and treatment protocols are designed to provide leading edge care as quickly as possible.

Barton Memorial Hospital is Lake Tahoe’s only Level III Trauma Center, meeting more than 160 essential care criteria by the American College of Surgeons. Trauma Centers guarantee the resources for trauma care and the immediate availability of emergency medicine physicians, surgeons, nurses, lab and x-ray technicians, and life support equipment 24-hours a day.
