Speed & Power Athletes
Work with your body to help it achieve maximum bursts of power using proper form. Use the analysis to complement your training program.
Bridge Program, $300 for 8 sessions
The Bridge Program is geared toward clients who wish to enhance their physical performance post rehabilitation. A trainer will design a sport specific exercise training program that will mitigate the client’s performance for their return to sport/activity. Athletes can utilize this program to improve strength, agility, and proprioception. As needed, the trainer will consult the designated client’s physical/occupational therapist and/or physician for programming guidance.
Wingate Test, $75 for test, exercise program prescription and demonstration
A Wingate Test is a 30 second all out sprint performed on our Excalibur Sport Lode Ergometer. This mechanically braked cycle is renowned worldwide as the gold standard in ergometry. The rider is instructed to pedal as fast as possible while the torque remains constant at a rate depending on the body weight. Power = Torque x velocity. Wingate testing is appropriate for individuals who are interested in finding out about their anaerobic power. Anaerobic power is a reflection of how efficiently the body’s energy system of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and phosphocreatine (PCr) pathways work. This energy system gives you high power for short durations.
Pedal Force Measurement is included with the Wingate Test
The Lode Ergometer has built-in modified strain gauge technology that measures forces exerted on the pedals during exercise and is supplied with angle detection. Forces, power, and torque results per 2 degrees of each revolution and efficiency calculations are monitored and recorded while the client cycles. This can help identify which leg is dominant and at which angles the client is able to produce the most power.
Resting Metabolic Rate, $250 for 2 sessions of Resting Metabolic Rate and VO2 Max or $100 for Resting Metabolic Rate Only
Resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing is geared toward clients who wish to identify their unique target caloric zones in order to lose weight or support their caloric needs during training. The exercise physiologist and physical therapist will advise the client as to how many calories they will need to intake in order to stay in the weight maintenance zone or the weight loss zone based on their unique resting metabolic rate (RMR). The calculated RMR will also be used to estimate calories burned during exercise and during normal activities of daily living.
VO2 Max, $250 for 2 sessions of Resting Metabolic Rate and VO2 Max or $200 for 2 sessions of only VO2 Max
VO2 Max testing is geared toward clients who are interested in completing a cardio fitness assessment that measures peak oxygen consumption, calories burned at different heart rates, aerobic and anaerobic threshold, as well as target intensity zones. A VO2 test measures the amount of oxygen the body uses at different exertion levels while exercising on a bike or treadmill.
Running Video Analysis, $350 for 2 sessions
Gait analysis is the systematic study of human motion, using the eye and the brain of an observer, augmented by instrumentation for measuring body movements, body mechanics, and the activity of the muscles. This process is facilitated through the use of computer-interfaced video cameras to measure patient motion. Dartfish software is used to measure and analyze gait abnormalities. A running analysis performed by the PT is designed to assess the client running mechanics through video gait analysis. The PT will evaluate and assess foot mechanics on land and treadmill, discuss strategies to successfully modify running gait, and if needed recommend custom orthotics. The overall goal is to improve running mechanics.

Alter-G, $200 for 10 sessions
The Alter-G is geared toward clients who are seeking an opportunity to train at a higher level. The Alter G can be utilized for performance therapy by including over-speed training (8%-13% faster than fastest speed), interval training (30 second speed repeats/1 min slow jog), and hill training (up to 15% incline). Over-speed training with a faster leg turn-over un-weighted allows for fast-twitch fibers to be recruited more easily in a weighted environment via muscle memory. The Alter-G is also useful for clients who are looking for reduced impact training and conditioning or weight control and reduction while strengthening and improving coordination of muscles protecting surrounding joints. Athletes looking to increase their speed or recover from a hard training session have seen that training on the Alter-G has helped them achieve their overall fitness goals. The Alter G Pro 200 allows for video recording of athletes’ walking or running form and can be replayed at slower speeds to analyze biomechanics easier.
Lower Extremity Testing, $200 for a 5-6 month testing protocol
The Lower Extremity Testing helps assess leg symmetry after an injury to determine an athlete’s readiness to return to play. The testing assesses balance, agility, and strength with movement screens, force plates, the Optojump system, and Wattbike.
Laser Therapy, $300 for 11 treatments (10 treatments + 1 free), $175 for 5 treatments, or $50 for 1 treatment
Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is scientifically proven and FDA cleared to reduce pain and restore mobility. The LightForce class IV laser emits energy in the infrared spectrum deep into tissues where it can utilize your body's own healing powers by stimulating additional cellular activity. Laser therapy generates a photochemical response in damaged tissue via photobiomodulation—a process that stimulates healing on a cellular level by enabling cells to more rapidly produce energy (ATP). Laser therapy treatments are safe, painless, and fast. Treatments generally take 8-15 minutes and patients typically see results after 3-5 treatment sessions. Despite fast treatment times, laser treatments initiate a healing process that continues to actively reduce inflammation for up to 24 hours after treatment. The class IV laser is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions, and post-op pain.
