Non-Surgical Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Non-surgical orthopedic specialists, or physiatrists, specialize in physical medicine & rehabilitation (PMR) related to musculoskeletal care and use a variety of treatment options to non-surgically help people regain body functions lost due to injury or pain in the bones, nerves, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Our sports and physical medicine physicians see patients out of offices in Stateline, South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Round Hill/ Zephyr Cove, and Carson City.
Non-surgical orthopedic specialists use many tools to advance a patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan including regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound, fluoroscopy and electrodiagnostics. Treatments may include joint and tendon injections, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy treatments, spinal transforaminal and interlaminar epidural injections, spinal facet joint injections or radiofrequency ablations and nerve blocks.

I just wanted to thank you for what you [Dr. Greg Burkard, Jr.] do. For all the time you spent studying to become a doctor. I didn't realize how much my life was affected by pain until these last two epidurals you did for me. I actually want to get up and cook dinner for a change! And doing laundry doesn't seem so daunting anymore. I'm sure my husband and kids appreciate it as well.
