Barton Health-ALTIS Partnership Update

Posted: 04/17/2020

For the past three years the partnership between Barton Health and ALTIS has provided performance-based training at the state-of-the-art Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness facility in South Lake Tahoe. Providing integrated care from orthopedic treatment and rehabilitation to performance training is the cornerstone of our sports medicine philosophy.

The Barton-ALTIS partnership commenced in September 2016. This partnership allowed us to strategically integrate performance into a traditional medical model and create a true continuum of care. Together we have had great success and achieved what we set out to do for our community.

The unpredictable nature of COVID-19 has disrupted programs and operations throughout Barton Health and our community. In March, we limited our normal Performance operations, and based on the continued effects of the COVID-19 crisis, we have now reached an agreement with ALTIS to modify the terms of our working relationship, moving up our contract’s end date from August of this year to the end of May. With this change we will see our friends and partners from ALTIS, Nick Ward, Cade Jones, and Mike Millek, move on to focus on new projects; however, we will explore opportunities to partner with them in new ways in the future.  In the meantime, we look forward to watching ALTIS continue to improve the lives of their clients in the new communities they bring performance programs to.

We are so grateful to the ALTIS team for their partnership during the launch of both the Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness facility and Barton Performance service line. We will continue to look for partnership opportunities, including future ALTIS-led events and training opportunities in Lake Tahoe.

Barton Performance programs, including Performance Coaching from your long-time Barton Health coaches, will still be provided, and we look forward to resuming full programming when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. In the short term, you can still expect our virtual workouts, in addition to tailored, individualized programs for Performance Members from our capable coaching staff.

This change does not affect clients’ ongoing membership. Barton Performance programs will continue to be offered on a limited, virtual basis. News and class schedules change frequently and can be found on our social media channels:
